Renault Megane E-Tech için LFP Pil Stratejisi

The French brand states that this move is part of its strategy to catch up with Chinese competitors. According to the International Energy Agency, approximately 75% of electric vehicles sold in China last year used LFP batteries, while this figure was only 10% in Europe. Currently, Renault’s models are equipped with NMC batteries, which have higher energy density and costs.
The company previously announced that LFP batteries would only be used in the new generation Twingo. Now, an LFP battery will also be added to the Megane E-Tech with the facelift planned for 2026. The electric model is also expected to adopt a sportier “hot hatch” identity.
Sales of the Megane E-Tech are on a downward trend. From January to July, sales decreased by 54%, dropping to 10,170 units. The vehicle was launched at a price of €35,200 at the beginning of 2022, but the French manufacturer later reduced the starting price to €34,000 in response to price cuts from Tesla and Chinese competitors.
Renault has not fully specified which models will feature LFP versions. However, among the models included in the Renaulution plan are the Renault 5, Renault 4 SUV, and Scenic. The sources for LFP battery supply have not been detailed, but the company announced last year that it would source LFP batteries from LG and China’s CATL starting in 2026.
