Hyundai, Türkiye'de elektrikli otomobil üretimi için tarih verdi
Hyundai had recently announced plans to commence electric vehicle production in Turkey, specifying the timeline in their latest update. The Korean manufacturer aims to be the first company to produce 100% electric vehicles in Turkey, following Togg.

In an interview with Habertürk, Hyundai Motor Turkey’s General Manager Murat Berkel stated that they plan to start electric vehicle production in August 2026. He noted that a new production line will be established in the İzmit factory, which currently exports 85% of its output to Europe.

“In 2024, we used our full capacity of 245,000 units. This year, we will utilize a capacity of 190,000 units. The reason for this is to make space for our electric vehicle. A new line is being set up, and we aim to commence production of our electric vehicle in August 2026,” he said.

It has been previously stated that the model to be produced in Turkey will not be the Inster. The recently launched A SUV model, priced at 1,319,000 TL, is currently produced in South Korea. While there has yet to be any official announcements regarding the model to be manufactured in İzmit, it is speculated that it will be a compact crossover similar in size to the Bayon.
