Meta, Yapay Zeka Odaklı İşe Alımları Geçici Olarak Durdurdu
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has temporarily halted its aggressive hiring focused on artificial intelligence.
Recently, Meta has welcomed over 50 AI experts and engineers to expand its Superintelligence team. For those who missed it, CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently consolidated all of the company’s AI efforts under the name “Superintelligence Labs.” The company is beginning to build a substantial team, having hired individuals like Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zhai from OpenAI’s Zurich office, which developed ChatGPT. Following that, Meta also acquired OpenAI employee Trapit Bansal, along with researchers Shengjia Zhao, Jiahui Yu, Shuchao Bi, and Hongyu Ren. Additionally, they recruited Ruoming Pang, who led AI model development at Apple, and another Apple employee, Daniel Gross. Recently, OpenAI researchers Jason Wei and Hyung Won Chung also joined Meta. Reports indicate that senior Apple employees Mark Lee and Tom Gunter have transitioned to Meta, and most recently, Bowen Zhang, who worked on AI models at Apple, has joined the company. According to new reports, the company has currently paused this aggressive hiring spree and will now focus on developing advanced AI systems, including artificial general intelligence, moving forward. One claim suggests that 50% of the Superintelligence team at Meta consists of Chinese AI experts, while 40% are from OpenAI, 20% from Google DeepMind, and 15% from Scale AI. Reports indicate that the annual contracts for these employees range between $10 million and $100 million, depending on their positions.
