iPhone’un Üretim Merkezi Artık ABD’de: Apple’dan Büyük Adım

iPhone’un kalbi artık ABD’de atacak: Apple’dan dev üretim hamlesi
Apple has announced a new $100 billion investment plan to expand its manufacturing capacity in the United States. This move is a response to the “domestic production” pressure from President Donald Trump. Previously, Apple had announced a four-year U.S. investment plan worth $500 billion. With the new investment, the total investment amount rises to $600 billion.

Complete Supply Chain in the U.S.

To this end, Apple has launched a special manufacturing program called the “American Manufacturing Program”. The program aims to shift the company’s supply chain and advanced manufacturing processes more to the U.S. Apple has also become the first company to establish a complete supply chain in the U.S. The production of chips used in iPhones will now take place on U.S. soil.

The supply chain will begin with advanced silicon wafers provided by GlobalWafers America. These wafers will be sent to TSMC’s new facility in Arizona, where Apple will be its largest customer. Texas Instruments will also play a crucial role in expanding chip production in Utah and Texas. Additionally, Applied Materials will produce advanced semiconductor equipment in Austin, enabling Apple’s custom-designed chips to be completely manufactured within the U.S.

In line with this plan, Apple has expanded its collaboration with glass manufacturer Corning. Now, the screens of iPhone and Apple Watch devices will be entirely produced in Kentucky. Not only silicon but other hardware components will also be produced in the U.S., such as rare earth magnet components for the Taptic Engine by MP Materials at its facilities in Texas and California. Moreover, Coherent will manufacture laser components used in Apple’s Face ID technology.

Additionally, Apple announced its collaboration with Samsung to work on a new chip manufacturing technology that will be used for the first time globally at its chip factory in Texas. Broadcom and Amkor are also among the production partners.

Apple’s server factory in Houston is set to begin mass production in 2026. Last month, the announcement of a new manufacturing academy in Michigan was made to provide advanced manufacturing techniques training to U.S. companies.

Apple CEO Tim Cook stated, “I am proud to say that Apple is leading the way in creating a fully integrated silicon supply chain, from design to equipment, chip production, manufacturing, and packaging. We will continue to work with our suppliers to bring even more of these incredibly advanced jobs to America.”

Apple’s significant move extends beyond manufacturing. The company projects that over 19 billion chips will be produced by 2025. Through this program, over 450,000 people will be indirectly employed across all states via Apple’s supply chain. Apple expects to directly hire more than 20,000 new employees, focusing primarily on artificial intelligence, software, and engineering sectors.
