Nintendo has not specified what exactly will change in this new version of Switch 2 to facilitate battery replacement. Currently, removing the battery in Switch 2 is a complicated, multi-step process.

Many gamers have welcomed the EU’s consumer-friendly approach, noting that replaceable batteries will help preserve the hardware. However, some users believe that producing a separate version of Nintendo Switch 2 with a replaceable battery could be more costly, leading to a potential price increase for Switch 2.

At this moment, it is unclear whether the replaceable battery model of Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for sale in North America, Asia, or other regions.
