Honor is currently in the spotlight with plans for its upcoming models, Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro, expected to be revealed this fall. The company is reportedly working on a groundbreaking device featuring dual 200-megapixel cameras, rumored to be named “Magic 8 Ultra.” If true, Honor will directly compete with giants like the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Xiaomi 16 Ultra.

On the camera front, it’s anticipated that there will be a main sensor paired with a periscope telephoto lens. Given the recent emergence of 200 MP periscope lens smartphones, it is intriguing to see what results Honor achieves with this dual configuration. The company’s previously developed “Super Zoom” algorithms made headlines with up to 100x AI-assisted digital zoom. This new model is expected to enhance these capabilities further.

Luo Wei, head of Honor’s imaging unit, clearly addressed the rumors. He denied allegations of a 1-inch sensor or dual lens setup, stating that the brand focuses on practical technologies rather than flashy solutions. He also mentioned investments in areas that enhance artificial intelligence contributions, claiming that this approach will give them a significant edge over competitors in the coming years.
